Why is Cambodia suited for solar panel installations?

Cambodia is suited perfectly for solar power because you get so many peak sun hours. Located 1500 Km (900 mi) north of the equator means intense, high in the sky sunlight for almost 6 hours a day.

A "peak sun hour" is defined as an hour of sunlight that offers 1,000 watts of photovoltaic power per square meter. More sun hours, more power.

Why you need solar power in Cambodia?

Cambodia's primary power sources are hydroelectricity (~48%) and coal (~47%). Coal is bad and 3/4 of the hydropower literarily dries during dry season. This leaves Cambodian residences with frequent power outages during peak use.

Another reason is that electric infrastructure doesn't exist at all locations, often your desired location. Pulling power cables to your residence is expensive, legally complicated if crossing other properties / sharing poles. Maintaining the cables and poles is also difficult because of its harsh conditions.

What is an All-In-One Solar Power System?

A myriad of variables such as panel types, connecting cable diameters, charge controller systems, battery configurations and inverter sizes makes buying photovoltaic (PV) equipment from multiple manufactures something of a consumer nightmare akin to a self assembled PC.
We offer the Sunpal All-In-One Solar Power Solutions that is as simple as it needs to be. Easy to ship, install and maintain.

Can I run my whole house on solar power?

Yes, you can. It actually makes you energy conscious. If you need more power. add more panels, batteries or run parallel operation. To calculate your power need, please contact us.

How many solar panels do I need?

Depending on how much power (wattage) you need. The smallest system uses 3 panels and produces 2000 Watt. The large 5000 Watt system uses 9 panels.

What is the best solar panel?

Mono-, Polycrystalline and Thin Film technology are the three major types of solar panels available. We recommend Monocrystalline panels because they:

  • are made out of the highest-grade silicon
  • have the highest efficiency rate
  • require the least amount of space
  • perform well in hot weather
  • live the longest

How many batteries do I need

The small 2000 watt system uses 2 batteries, large 5000 watt systems use 8 batteries in series. You can always increase storage when need.

What is the best battery?

For Cambodia we recommend a tried-and-true technology, Lead Acid Gel (VRLA) batteries. Because they:

  • are the most cost-effective option
  • require no maintenance
  • handle higher charge/discharge rates
  • withstand Cambodia's high temperatures

Much more expensive Lithium batteries with a longer lifespan are available upon request.
